god-eat-god worlds is a publisher of fiction and games dedicated to better and more responsible allegorical representations of how cultures and socioeconomic factors work in worldbuilding. We believe the assumptions you make when building a world work their way into the player's worldview and actions, and repetition normalizes these worldviews and behaviors. We also believe that neuroscience, semantics, linguistics, biology, physics, and quantum mechanics all tell us that so-called identities, however beneficial to mental stability in the moment, are toxic when taken as realer than the true self--the body, the senses, memory, personality, and overall the whole being in their context of time and space relative to everything else in the universe. You are a verb. Roleplaying is a way of escaping the trap of identity, that being the idea that you are identical to anything that has ever happened before or since you came into existence, and allows you to exercise your empathic abilities rather than shrink into an internal hall of mirrors. In short, roleplaying games are the opposite of social media, and are the key to maintaining social and mental health in times ruled by algorithms. god-eat-god worlds are not perfect, but they are constructed with these concepts in mind.
